W/ new (Steam) patch...game gets stuck and will not load

For some reason, Steam has updated my OOTP 19 w/ todays latest patch, but when I try to either start a new QuickStart game (2018 season), the data loading gets stuck at 90%. A new Standard Game for 2018 season gets stuck at 78% ("assigning Team IDs"). EVERY SINGLE TIME. Loading a previous game (for either one of my historical season, or my previous, PRE-patch 2018 season) works fine. I had no problem playing the game pre-patch. So, I cannot start a new season and use the new rosters. I've restarted my PC (Win 7,latest drivers), UNCHECKED "allow Steam Overlay". Short of uninstalling/reinstalling which I do NOT want to do...it wont work.
My PC and drivers work great with my other 3D games. THis is an issue with the data NOT installing properly post-new-patch.
Ideas,guys? Thank you.

Can you try the steam function 'verify integrity of game files' ?

- Right click on OOTP in steam
- Click properties on the bottom
- click local files at the top of the window that comes up
- click 'verify integrity of game files' at the bottom.

All this does is check your installation for all files that are supposed to be there, and re-downloads ones if they're missing. Occasionally issues happen for unknown reasons and this is usually the first thing to try in steam.

That might help. Also try to go to settings > troubleshooting > force game data re-installation and click that, it might also help.

Great! Like I said, sometimes it happens, and there's not really a reason that can be identified. That's always my starting point for Steam troubleshooting.

Troubleshooting from what window? I can't even reinstall game.
