"Free Agent Draft" without including the upcoming Draft Pool players possible?

I want to run a free agent draft in mid April, to scoop up the 300 or so unsigned guys as the vast majority of computer controlled teams need lots of minor league players to round out their rosters. Problem is, if you do a FREE AGENT DRAFT, the players pending for the mid-May DRAFT POOL get included as well.

Any way to exclude them; I want the mid-May first year player draft to run as a separate draft entirely.

How hard up is the AI for players? Seems to me that if it is in dire need of lots of minor league players and allowed to sign players it shouldn't need any help solving the problem on its own.

Shouldn't there be a couple hundred unsigned players at any given time anyway?

Until there's a separate contraction option, the FA draft option would be the easiest way to get the players involved onto a team, and as such you wouldn't want the amateur draft players involved.

Exactly what happened to me, I thought it was a great way to replicate a contraction draft and got all the amateurs too. I did this immediately on a new game, and the usual amateur draft happened later too.

i don't think we can edit draft pools, so it is unavoidable.

it will definitely infuse a ton of talent into the league, lol.

this is why i don't like an inaugural draft with real players.. same thing happens. you have good to great talent all the way to round 60.

Thanks, all.

Guess the FA draft will have to wait until the day after the Draft Pool draft!
