I would love to use the Classic Skin, but the strobe light white pbp background kills my eyes. Therefore, I use Dark. For a day or so, prior to the patch, I got to see just how great the Classic skin could be if it had a dark play by play background. So sad the patch reverted things to the strobe light.

I vote dark. I don't like 3 different skins. I wish many different lists of skin to choose from.

I voted other - I like and use all 3, almost everyday. It depends on the time of day, whether there's natural light, artificial light, etc.

If it's strong, like a nice sunny day, then I'm using dark skin.

Early evening on an overcast day, probably regular OOTP.

Night time, artificial light I mostly use Classic.

For me, I always want to be viewing OOTP in the best light I can. There's just so much depth and so many fun things to look at.

Should mention I bought a 27" monitor last month and now view OOTP at 2560x1440 - so the skin/light combo is huge for me

I wanted to like Dark but in the end I went with Classic. Stark white on jet black is too much for my eyes even though it looks striking at first.

The only thing with Classic: In some places, the font could be darker. It's the reverse of Dark in that, with a light background, darker font is always best.

Other than that, I am happy with Classic. Grade: A-

I am using dark because OOTP 19 is optimized for it...but really, I just like OOTP (light)

Yeah, you noticed that too? Not that I am complaining but for each version, you can tell which skin was the developer's favorite in subtle ways, not just because it was chosen to be the default.

The dark skin default has been growing on me. I figured if all the effort was going into improving it, least I could do was give it an honest run. I went back to the light skin to try it, and now I prefer the dark one.

I have to add - I'd like & use the Dark Skin more if all the hyperlinks weren't underlined. Just too much underlining for my eyes.

Not that I am blowing smoke for OOTPB, but that is what is happening for me as well. Once I learned what they are, I started looking for them.

Incidentally, I see Classic Skin is getting some additional love in the poll now.

didn't like the dark skin at first, but after seeing the classic, i went back to it and am getting to the point i'll stick with it. i'm sorta liking the underlines for some strange reason.

i'm forcing myself to adjust to the dark version. more about past familiarity why i say 'force'. i don't like change

but, it's easier on the plasma tv... longevity may be a concern if i own it for ~15-20 years. It's half way to 15 now. black is a 'resting state' if you will. white is full bore. plus, i think it will be easier on my eyes too.

i've always kept my desktop a solid black. the extra contrast could be a problem for a fresh out a box plasma, but not one that's well used. burn-in or etching doesn't happen with a modern plasma unless you thoroughly thrash it during the first 300 hours of use.

plasma > lcd.. pixel response time is 1000X faster.. hence you get ghosting effects with lcd and need some elevated and manufactured refresh rate to help combat it. if you cable comes at 60hz, how is a higher refresh rate helping beside post processing of data... it's like resizing 360p to 2160p and calling it 4k... no, it had 4k lines of reso, but it's upscaled crap, visually speaking. it's a true shame the "mob of the uninformed" bought lcd's and plasmas are basically undeveloped and soon to go the way of the dodo. at least with beta vs inferior vhs there were other reasons.. like sony being greedy AF. price point was actually cheaper for plasmas in the last decade.

I've used dark since release, but I'm starting to like classic as it makes the facegens pop more and the rating bars seem to have a 3D effect to them.
