Brian Milner

Anyone know about Brian Milner? This guy went straight to the majors at 18, but never played after that. I searched, but I couldn't find anything about him.

He was the only catcher since 1965 to skip over the minors on the way to the big leagues. Went 4-9 in the majors, was demoted to the minors, never got another chance.

Brian Milner was signed by the Jays in 1978 after they saw him play in the Texas High School All-Star Game. Supposedly, the deal hinged on him making his professional debut with the big club. So the Jays had him play in a couple games, one of which they won 24 - 10 (he went 3 for 5 with a triple and 2 RBI in that game). He was farmed out to Medicine Hat the next day and never returned to the Bigs. At 18, he remains the youngest player in Jays history.

Hope that helps!
