Here's my problem. It's year 3 of a custom league. It's the playoffs and my team is up 2-0. Every time I sim the game, week, month, postseason, anything the game gives the ootp5.exe error box and crashes. I looked over my roster and all was good, but there's a player on the other team who's gone bad. He's a 1 star 36yr old SP who's now making 1018,345,214 per year and is signed for 12345678 years. All of his other stats are whacked out as well.
I can't gain control of that team and delete or move him that I know of. I don't know what else to do. I did a back up in the beginning of the year, but that was 164 games ago. ![]() Any ideas of how to salvage my season.... Thanks |

I'm not sure if it can be saved, but have you tried either editting the player or deleting him?

In that case, can you please give me a quick step by step way to do that? I don't normally muck about with any files.

Well, go to that team change ownership to "human" if it isn't already then go to that player's card, turn on the editor and see if it will allow you to edit/correct the contract. If so, see if that fixes the problem. If not, try the same above but instead of editing the player go to the transaction screen and release him, then go to the free agent pool and delete him. Left clicking on his name in the FA pool brings up the delete option.

I tried that originally, but to no avail. I can't toggle off of computer ownership or make the editor come on. Maybe since it's the playoffs?
I thought I had solved the problem by deleting the offending game and simply playing my game 3 along with every other series game 4s. While it worked for this series I never reached the world series because of another corrupted player on one of the remaining teams in the other league. Again, there was no way to gain control of the team long enough to remove/correct the player. Not a good bug to encounter or potentially encounter in your career leagues. |
