Having Icon Difficulty (70's Icons)

Ok...I'm starting a '74 historical season and am looking around for icons. I got a great link to http://www.logoserver.com/Baseball.html in a previous thread...and found all the icons I need.

My problem is that when I save them as .bmp some of them (Atlanta and Baltimore come to mind) look just terrible within the game. When I view them outside OOTP5 they look just fine.

I even downloaded a 70's icon file and had the exact same results.

Can anyone give me any ideas how this is happening? Or more importantly, how to fix it?

Thanks a lot...I'll see if that fixes my problem. I'll find out once I'm done downloading my trial version of an editor
