Exclamation OOTP 19 - Opening Day Rosters

Hey guys, had question whilst we are all fervently refreshing our emails.

What is the difference between Opening Day rosters and the rosters that will be in the game today?

If I wanted to start a league now would it be at a disadvantage if the rosters aren't properly formatted as they would be a week later?

To some extent, yes, it’s a disadvantage because rosters haven’t been set. But it won’t be stopping me personally. If you do feel like waiting, Opening Day is only 10 days away...

This is actually a good thing. It is my first OOTP and so I would be in essence having a trial run (getting used to things and getting comfortable with the game) for a period of time until opening day rosters are released at which point I'd be well versed to start for proper.

Not a bad idea to do a trial run, especially if it's new to you. You'll make some mistakes or change your mind on a setting you selected or notice some option you missed the first time. I've been playing for years and I still do a quick trial for the first week or so.

Also in addition to the rosters, there will be program updates.

Obviously we don't know what the actual Opening Day rosters will be yet. This is just our best educated guess. That being said, even next week when the OD rosters are in game, they still won't be 100% perfect as sometimes it's impossible to get the ai to see things the way the real teams do without making cuts or boosts to player skills that would actually detract from the realism of the set.

The rosters will be even more polished in 10 days, but they should be pretty great even now. So if you really want to start a league today, I'd say go ahead!

I agree with you. Jump right in, poke around and then if you feel so inclined, start a new game with Opening Day rosters.
