Relegation & Promotion League(s) Setup
I am interested in setting up a "universe" consisting of around four leagues using the relegation and promotion option. But I'm not sure how it would even look in terms of set up in OOTP. When one creates a new game one is creating a single league structure with its own set of players throughout the league. How are different leagues in this case then joined together to create the "universe" that I am looking for, and would not each league have it's own set of players? I am envisioning a universe of players across all the leagues. So to start I would create a fictional league. Would I then create multiple fictional leagues? Then how would they be linked? How would they share players? I am not picturing at all how to even begin in terms of setting this up. Thoughts?

I think I can help a bit.
Create a fictional league in the wizard Before you finalize there will be an option to add a league. Do that to create your next league. Repeat as necessary. Once you finalize one of the tabs in the the game has the option to create an association. That is what I think you want. Remember to rate your leagues accordingly. Good luck |

So I created the four different leagues, and I created an association. Now, two questions; first, how do I rate the leagues? I do recall seeing this in the online manual, but as far as I know it did not come up in the wizard. I realize this is vital so hopefully this is something that can yet be modified. Second, upon creation of the association I am seeing two leagues that I don't think I created (and I did not add to the association), but are listed as leagues in my game. Can I remove leagues from the list of leagues that are in my game? I guess I could let them run as independent, but don't really want to. But biggest question is how to I modify the league ratings at this point. Thanks in advance.
** Figured out the answer to both of these questions later on my own. Both of these things can be done within "League Options". Last edited by jeffwb7; 03-07-2018 at 02:54 AM. |

I think you have what you want, but I don't think there's any need for an association unless you want a unified draft or a playoff among all your leagues. You can set up independent leagues and set them to promote/relegate to each other without an association. Then if you set each league to allow free agents to enter and to leave (two separate boxes) any players who aren't drafted will just float around to whatever league will have them.

Jeff, I was curious how you setup your leagues. I've been testing out a promotion/relegation league and its been pretty fun and interesting. I'd love to hear other ideas though. i've got...
Platinum League, rated 10, 16 teams, no playoffs, 1 team relegated Gold League, rated 7, 16 teams, no playoffs, 1 promoted, 2 relegated Silver League, rated 4, 32 teams, no playoffs, 2 promoted, 1 relegated Bronze Division, rated 2 and set as a AAA league, currently 10 teams but i have it setup to evolve so new teams can be added to the leagues via the bronze division, also a 6 team playoff system to determine the team promoted though I have to do this manually because it will bring up the #1 team even if #4 seed wins the playoffs. I've also played around with the "mass-adjust current financial values" for each league to make the lower leagues poorer. Its all still a work in progress but its been fun to experiment with |

I have three leagues. I have Elite, Professional, and Silver. They have 16, 16 and then 24 teams respectively. 2 teams get demoted and promoted after each season. This is my first season doing it so it should be pretty interesting. I also have it set such that I manually do the promotions after the season because I don't want to have it based on just win percentage, but rather I will have the championship winner from each league as the team to be advanced.
