Question about Financials being turned off

When you turn off the Financials, do your players stay on their teams unless you trade them? I know the AI ran teams will trade, but does all free agency cease to exist and players just continue their career on the same team unless traded??
In other words, players on a team you run will stay put throughout their career?

they can still release players and still have to adhere to 25/40-man roster rules, but i'd assume it will be fewer quality players per year filing for FA.

a players has other factors beside money when deciding between teams... we can only assume the rest of those factors remain in force. if it always picks the first teamID or alphabetical order 100% etc you'll no it's not doing much of anything... not likely in ootp.
