Changing a Name

If I use commissioner mode to change a player's name, does the game go back and rewrite the change in history? If I return to the leader boards of a previous year, will I see the new name?

I would imagine yes because wouldnt the leaderboards be attached to the player ID and not the name?

Since he was an international free agent, there's no place to look. I changed his name slightly; it didn't change on the news report or on the hot link, but when I clicked his link with the old name, it went to his page with the new one.

News reports are written and saved. I doubt any messages will be updated. Leaderboards may be because they change so they are called and populated. It will depend on how OOTP saves the screen you are looking at.
