Pitch-by-Pitch not working

I used this to get out of one pitch mode in previous versions. I just started playing out games in OOTP18 and when I click on pitch by pitch and select some options in the control panel it completes the entire at-bat.

So I can't use swing away in case I want to send a runner on a 3-2 count. Has anybody else run into this or have a solution? Or is this a bug?

More info needed. Pitch-by-pitch can, at any time, produce a result which will, or will not, resolve the plate appearance. Have you tried to take a pitch? If "take" works ie the pitch is a ball/strike with no other action then PbP works.

FWIW using "swing away" in any context, in PbP, gives up control to the game engine. What do you expect to happen in "swing away"?

Yes, take pitch works, but swing away resolves the at-bat immediately even if it's a ten pitch at-bat. I'd like to be able to use swing away in case I get in a favorable count and want to hit and run or send the runner on 3-2.

EDIT: according to the manual you should be able to control each pitch in an at-bat no matter what option you choose. That's also the way previous versions worked. Maybe I'm missing something.

RESOLVED: It works if you let the game auto-set the game screen, weird.

there's a toggle (*if not, at least feedback as to which option is in use) while playing a game. 1-pitch at a time vs 1* click per AB (sic). if this sort of thing were bugged, you'd see quite a few similar posts in the forum.

take a pitch always works as a 1-off regardless of which setting is enabled. i don't think anyone wants to repeatedly take a pitch until the AB is done. well, then again... i am quite cynical about the mob.

maybe the toggle/feedback wasn't visible in game with your custom view and it was mistakenly on 1-click mode?

No it was visible it just didn't do anything, but then I turned the screen on auto-configure and voila! Who knows? It works now.

it won't matter for '18, but still post that as a bug, if it's a repeatable problem.

if you can't cause the same problem again, nevermind...maybe just a hiccup with related UI files.
