Delayed penalty timing
When a team has two men in the penalty box and a third penalty is called, the time does not start running down on that third penalty until the first of the two earlier penalties expires -- so it's called a "delayed penalty". I've noticed that when a delayed penalty happens, the game does not start the timing of that penalty at the correct moment. An example is shown in the screen shot below. A third (delayed) penalty was called at 12:53 and it should start counting down after the first penalty expires at 13:16. But I noticed that as the game played out, that delayed penalty did not start until some time after the second penalty expired. As evidence of this problem, notice that a goal was scored at 18:19, well after that delayed penalty ought to have expired. But still the goal was classified as a power play goal.
I believe I've noticed this problem in the past as well, but this is the first time I have obtained evidence for it. |

That looks like the third one may have been delayed until the first stoppage after the first penalty expired instead of beginning immediately (as it should've.) But can you upload that save? I'd like to take a closer look at a few things in the boxscore to make sure it's not some strange instance of a penalty not expiring when it should.

Thanks. Looks like I can rule out the penalty not expiring, the PP/SH icetimes roughly match what they should be and don't have any unexplainable surplus. So this seems to be something to do with the third penalty not starting immediately at the end of the first; I'm guessing it waited until the first whistle after 13:16, which turned out to be several minutes later, enough that there was still a power play five minutes afterwards. We'll check why that happened, this is a pretty straightforward situation, unlike most penalty timing issues where there are players off for both teams or misconducts involved.

Sorry for threadjacking but I had a similar issue just crop up in my game; after the 2nd period opened with a lot of penalties and misconducts to both sides, the game just flat out refused to let my player back on to the ice and the clock got stuck on 1:41 left of the penalty. We played 37 minutes short handed.
(I decided to save scum and won the replay 6-0, but still wanted to report it) |

Can you post a screenshot of the exact sequence of penalties? There's an open bug report on the list about an issue with misconducts - this sounds like something a little different, but I want to make sure.

![]() At 3:40 and 3:42 I received penalties while playing 3v4. No more penalties, yet get two PP goals against. |

And Tornqvist somehow took a penalty while he should've already been in the box. Yeah, that's definitely different from the one I'm thinking of, we'll try to figure out what went wrong there. Looks like it could be more than one thing.
