Sonny Gray help

I am GM'ing the Padres and, last night, I pulled a great trade for A's pitcher, Sonny Gray. His morale after the trade is Great, but....he is up for arbitration. I wanted to negotiate a contract to keep him locked up, but when I did, he says he doesn't want to play for manager Andy Green because their personalities clash.
So how do I lock up Gray? Do I try to find another manager? I thought I would keep Green on and see how he does this year with some acquisitions I am making.
Help.

If he's eligible for arbitration that means you still control his rights. He might not be willing to sign an extension but he will have to sign a contract through arbitration. That contract will be for either the amount you submit or the amount he submits (which you aren't told until arbitration hearings are announced).

Update:
I offered him $10mil, the judge gave him 13.5mil for one year. He still has a Great morale, but wont talk extension because of the manager.
Why do I have the feeling that I got hosed in this trade?!

check if any other pitchers have a problem with green

and turn off coaches to begin with
