Post Maybe ScottVib should get a job...

I am proposing that we give ScottVib an ultimatum-
Get rid of that stupid ugly plaque of his, or the OOTP community will ban him from the forums for 3 days. This means that there will be approximately 784 fewer posts during that period of time. I also propose that we time him to see what the average span of time between his responses is. I personally will be watching this post to see how long it takes him to respond to it. Well, the clock's ticking scott, i would'nt want you to be late.

Sorry bamf909, I just don't understand the joke. Some might think this was serious so I'll pipe up for newbies reading that Scott is well liked here and also the most helpful poster (probably by a long shot) on the board. Save the 'Spos!

As for the plaque, I thought it was awarded to him by the very community on this board. I may be wrong, but I don't think Scott did it himself. Personally, I thought it was a nice touch if they did reward him for his hard work.

Killebrew, i'm sorry. I see how anyone doesn't get this. Anyone who makes a plaque to congratulate themselves on making it into the HOF deserves a little criticism. As Hammer once said, the reason there are no more ratings is because "It was dropped because of people like ScottVib, who would constantly respond to posts under the guise of 'helping people' just to be inducted into the OOTP Forum Hall of Fame. "

I don't get it. If there are no rankings any longer, there's no motive for Scott to respond to posts. Maybe he's ummm....helping people out?

Just a thought.

It's amazing how people always look for an ulterior motive behind someone being helpful. I guess for them, altruism is truly dead.

If Steve/Markus "awarded" it to him that is cool too as he deserves it . Sorry, but you are obviously a newbie here if you think what Hammer said was serious - he was joking . For some background on Scotts history he has actually accumulated more than double his current OOTP forum post count on the FOFC and old OOTP forums. I also think he does much of his posting from work, though the PI I have following Scott has not reported in to me recently. Hmmm... (scratches prof-like beard with some concern).

Also for any Scott post that might look even remotely like "post-count padding", he comes up with posts like this - wowza.

(Note: The sentence about the Private Investigator was a joke. I did not pay for a PI to tail ScottVib.... yet.)

I like to think of Scott as a friend (as much as can be over the internet) and he has been nothing but an upstanding guy that is helpful and a great owner in our league. He also served a big part on the beta testing team by gathering all of the necessary weather data.

If Scott did make the logo for himself, I think the forum should repay him by making a HOF logo for him and awarding it to him. He certainly deserves it for all of his patience and help. If you don't know what I mean, try answering the same question 100 times and see if you still have a sense of humor and desire to help. Scott has done this and more. Keep up the good work Scott.

I have a question, how big of a loser do you have to be to really care who is posting what. This is a bulliten board for christ sakes. So, if he is posting help, or just moving his counter, who gives a damn. It's not like the man is gaining world power by posting. And for the ScottVib guy, he has personally helped me an a few occasions. So, leave the man alone, and anyone else who is on here, if you don't like their posts, or help, do something real novel, don't read their posts. Remember folks, bulliten board, not rocket science.

My only regret is that nobody on this forum has a sense of humor. Lightly poking fun at ScottVib for making his own plaque was probably a little bit on the impolite side, but there is some room for a little teasing now and then. One of the problems i have with this forum is simply that there is too great a reluctance to have fun. Everyone is usually polite, and that's good, but sometimes it restricts the humor. It seems that people who have nonconformist ideas are always getting shot down here, and that the slightest remarks can be taken way too seriously. Look no further than posts like the guy that made a hint that there was something the matter with rolen's rosters. He got criticized so severely for daring to speak up. I guess that what i'm trying to say, is that everyone here just needs to lighten up a little.

I have received alot of help from Scott and other members of this forum. I take offense to the fact that some clown comes on here and tries to deter someone from posting, especially those members of this forum who help all the new people get more enjoyment out of this game.

IMO we are best off abandoning that sinking ship that is Off Topic to the rats infesting it and just starting a whole new Baseball Forum from scratch.

taffarel basicly I think he just got tired of people showing up and starting threads like this(Troll Bait) and to a lesser degree people not reading over the forums and seeing that question has been asked before and getting the answer that way.

I flamed him for comeing off rude In that post but I can understand how a person can get frustrated with posts like this one. We have a very helpful group of people here and we just dont want this place going down hill like some other Baseball Board(No Names ).

But taffarel dont let that scare you we allways are happy to welcome New Users Into are ranks. Welcome Aboard
