Promo/Relegation League in lieu of expansion

In lieu of expansion in the current ML, what about doing a 8 team promo/relegation league (I simmed a few years and started it in 2020)? Has anybody tried it? I've turned on the promo/releg function and setup a free agent draft for Jan 2 to fill the teams with some "real" players and then off I go.

I've set the financials and reputation to the same as MLB so I have a fighting chance of luring MLB players over. Anything else to look out for? Suggest doing?

do I want to turn on the "Feeding into draft pool of another league" ? into this league from the ML ?

so are you creating a pro/rel system that's separate than the mlb or is the mlb a part of it?

My idea was to create a league that MLB teams could pro/rel to, instead of just expanding. Sort of like if the MLB created a "3rd" league.
