Game crashes when accessing Manager screen

It worked last night, now it crashes everytime.

I have the GeForce rosters loaded.

I joined then resigned a few times last night, but I went to the manager screen to resign from the current job and now it just crashes.

I wanted to turn off the manager mode.

any suggestions?

Have you tried going into "game setup" and changing the browser that the game uses to open html files?

Well, I uninstalled OOTP5 and then re-downloaded it, installed the geforce complete minors roster.

I changed the schedule to fix the all star game bug.

I downloaded directx9.

This time, I tried to play a game and OOTP5 crashed.

I will try it again and copy the crash message, so maybe that can help figure out the problem.

Anyways, OOTP5 now crashes whenever I try to do just about anything!

I never had a problem like this in all the time I ran OOTP3 and 4.

Thanks for any more suggestions, but I think it is more than the browser thing.

What about turning off the sound and trying?

Now OOTP5 will not start on my machine.

I get this error message:

Does this help point out possible problems?

I did shut off some programs which were running in the background, to speed OOTP5 up, by going through the msconfig thing as it said in the faq to help OOTP5 run faster.

Is it possible that I shut off something which windows needs to run stuff like this?

update:

the game is now working. I tried to start a fictional league (don't know why I did not think of that). This time it loaded the new league and I could view rosters.

So I reinstalled the MLB roster set totalminors and then went to start a career 2003 league. It has loaded just fine and I can view teams rosters. I am about to try to play a game and see if that works also, I will update here if needed.

I think the problem could possibly be with the manager function.

I turned that on and took a job with the Angels, then I resigned and took a job with the diamondbacks, then I resigned that job and took the yankees job, and I think this is when it started crashing on me.
