International Free Agent Contract

If I'm looking to sign an international free agent, one of the guys who auto populate at the start of the offseason, how would a player option year work if the contract is less than 6 years? Wouldn't he he under team control, regardless?

yes if you have the league set to re-set years of service for new players he should go to arbitration after his 3 years are up I'm assuming where you can offer him a 1 year contract, try and extend him longer, or not offer him anything and he'll become a free agent.

If you give him an opt-out clause I would think that allows him to be a free agent.
