Closer as Starter
Fancy a chuckle?
So I set my 7 day line-ups,5 man pitching order, strict rotation etc etc and set the game to run off 5 games. When I checked the A.I. had played my closer twice in 5 days as a starter, the first game his pitch count was 96 over 8.1 innings and and then 146 over 8 innings with no reliever in site, both games were defeats.Oh and during this set of games the AI also sent one of my SP's to AAA despite winning 4 of his last 5 Major League starts. |

AI choices can be defended, but if it's not following your commands and you have not delegated related things, definitely make a post in bugs forums.
so, it didn't follow your lineups? double check delegation of GM powers. (main gm settings - a tab there if not first seen) the demotion, if delegated to ai, isn't neccessarily wrong. gm's irl definitely don't make any decision based on a handful of games. if it evaluates a different pitcher in aaa/40-man, then it will use it. think of it as just a different opinion that's likely valid in some way. probably related gm/coach strategy sliders - gm favors prospects? (not sure if coach is involved? they 'do' the mil promo/demo stuff) maybe you have league to favor prospects and that has an efffect? (not sure on latter, the gm sliders a definite source of behaviour) |

Sometimes when I played in online leagues, I would set up the 2 week schedule (can't remember the settings name), then forget to un-check the box to use my rotation from the "pitching staff" screen for the following sim. Maybe?
