Think I goofed Arizona Fall League
I have been simming the 2017 MLB season and was going to take over as GM for whatever GM opening I like. I am not seeing any updates or references to the AFL on my news updates and I am beginning to think I have settings wrong. Where do I set the AFL to play out and are there news updates for players doing well in it??
Thanks! |

if you set it up correctly it would behave just like any other league so you need to choose it in the dropdown of leagues. If you don't see it you messed up somewhere.

Thanks, andyhdz. I figured it out, but my computer isn't wanting to load with the AFL in it.

I'm confused regarding this league. How do I send players to it? When do I start sending them and is there an age limit or anything? I can't seem to find anything in my game about this league.

Bump. Can anyone offer me guidance on how to locate the AZ fall league so I can send my players to it?

I am playing a normal MLB game and am the Yankees. I do not see that league as an option in any drop down menus. I also looked in the settings and am unable to locate anything about it. When I started the league I enabled all the leagues.

So now that I think about it, I believe I don't have access to the league because the Yankees don't have a team in that league, correct?

I'm not sure about the real life Yankees being in that league. I also have never played an OOTP Baseball universe with that league.
However, I have every reason to believe that if you play in commissioner mode (Manager Settings "Play as Commisioner", either on the Team Control or Manager Options tab), you have the ability to create the league. Then replace one of the existing teams in that league with a Yankees team or minor league affiliate. Or you can gain access to one of the existing teams as a Yankees minor league affiliate. Or you can add the Yankees or one of their minor league affiliates into that league. In the League Settings screen, on the Functions tab, I believe there is a blue hyper-link to create a league. Either that, or such an option exists in the "Available Options" drop down on the League Settings screen. You should be presented with the ability to choose an existing league. Then pick that Arizona league. I am always careful when on the League Settings screen to make sure the desired league is shown in both places on the screen. There is a league shown at the top center of the screen. And then there is also a less obvious "current league" shown on the upper right of the screen, just above "Available Actions". I would make sure the current league is listed as MLB in both places. If I were to try this, I would create the League using the defaults. Then I would go into the Team Settings screen for one of those teams and change the "Affiliate of" setting to Yankees. Hope this helps. I can't look up all the screen details for these options at the moment. http://manuals.ootpdevelopments.com/...e=league_types http://manuals.ootpdevelopments.com/...e=team_control http://manuals.ootpdevelopments.com/...p_league_rules http://manuals.ootpdevelopments.com/...tions_ballpark Don't forget to un-check the "Play as Commissioner" box after you have things set up the way you want. Otherwise, the game will let you do anything you want, including agreeing to any trade, etc. Last edited by jmknpk2; 11-20-2017 at 01:19 PM. |

The Arizona Fall League is not a minor league affiliated league, it's essentially a tournament (like the WBC). There are 6 teams in the AFL and I think each AFL team is affiliated with 5 MLB teams.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mesa_Solar_Sox https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salt_River_Rafters https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scottsdale_Scorpions https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glendale_Desert_Dogs https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peoria_Javelinas https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Surprise_Saguaros If I recall, you cannot opt to send players there as the GM of your MLB team.....so you cannot simply right click on a guy and have the option to send player to the team you have an affiliation with. The GMs of the AFL teams will go an select players from a pool of players made up of guys that are in the affiliated teams system and are in the selected level (AAA-AA is default). The player will either agree or decline to go play in the AFL, with pitchers more likely to decline the invitation. I think the only way to make sure that certain players are chosen to play would be to create a new GM and become the GM of that AFL team and then select the player(s) you want to play.
