Advanced Batting Statistics
Wondering if anybody can explain how BatR and BsR are calculated? Understand they are sabermetric stats measuring value of hitting and baserunning. Just wonder if anybody can give me any more information on those stats? Thanks.

Roughly speaking, they try to emulate this: https://www.fangraphs.com/library/offense/off/
Batting runs essentially takes their wOBA to create a "runs above average" metric, which then gets converted to batting runs. BsR calculates their value on the bases. Currently it only calculates for steals, I believe, but in the future we'll look into adding more baserunning components. |
