Question on Stats

I am playing 1978 season but I like pitching ERAs and tried to change the stats to 1968. I went to the settings and changed the Stats to be based on 1968 and saved it but when I go back to that page it still shows 1978. Is that normal? Now I didnt run the season to see what the stats output would be but this doesnt seem right does it? Is there anything else I need to click to make it stay at 1968?

uncheck the box. As you can see i'm in 2027 but the stats line is from 1997.
