Crashing in-game on OSX

OOTP 18 has been working very smoothly on my Mac all year (about 300 hours so far with only a few crashes) until recently. It's still fine when I'm simming, but when I go to actually play out a game it has started crashing frequently enough to prevent me getting through a game. Nothing about my computer setup/OS/etc. has changed, and I've made sure OOTP is the only thing running.

I have tried to narrow down what specific in-game events might cause it, but it's different every game and isn't occurring only on edge-case scenarios - just during the normal course of play, generally within the first few innings. It seems (anecdotally) to occur more frequently on run-scoring plays when my team is batting, particularly if we are behind and the play ties the game or gives me the lead. It also happens when none of those conditions are applicable though. I think it is tied to 3D-mode, and I think it has only started happening in the latest patch, but can't say for sure.

I'm hesitant to report it as a bug since I can't reliably replicate it or determine specific causes; has anyone else had a similar experience on their Mac? What would be the next steps in trying to narrow it down/render a more useful bug report?

Same here, though I'm seeing the most frequent crashes when I'm forced to make an in-game substitution as the result of an injured or ejected pitcher. There's a 100% chance of it crashing in that scenario.
