Ghost Leagues

So, as part of a reorganization, I wanted to add a new minor league. I went through the "Add New League" process but forgot to designate the new league as AAA level (the default being Major League level).

So, a whole minor league system was created at the same time - 5 new subordinate leagues representing the minor leagues of this new league.

This isn't what I wanted so I went back a re-designated the league as a AAA level minor league and set it to be affiliated with the Major League. Now when I look at the available leagues dropdown box, everything seems to be fine. None of those subordinate leagues to my new league show up there. So, I thought all was well.

But, I've just discovered that If I go the player list of my new minor league and "list all players", and if I check "include minor leagues" I can see that all of those minor leagues to my newly created league are still there, complete with teams and players and schedules and standings and everything.

I want to delete all this. But, since none of these leagues or teams show up in the dropdown boxes for selecting leagues, I can't get to "league settings" for any of these leagues and so I can't get to the "delete this league" function.

So. How do I get rid of these leagues?

OK, I figured it out, so I'll answer my own question.

First go to commissioner mode.
Then go to league settings -> leagues and teams for the league in question.
Set the "parent league" to be unaffiliated.
Once I did this all of those subleagues now show up on the select league menu.

I didn't want all of the players to be dumped into the free agent pool, so before deleting the leagues, I went through each of them and deleted all of the players.

Now, the "delete this league" function is available.

I deleted all of these leagues.

Then I went back to the original league under "league and teams" and re-affiliated it with MLB. I then had to set all of the individual team affiliations again.

But. It appears to have worked and was relatively painless....
