IFA Issue with setting Cap to 0 for no cap
I moved my online league over to OOTP18 recently from OOTP17. We have played 5 online seasons in OOTP17. My league has 4 leagues with each league having the the setting of "More (20 per year)" for the Generate International Amateur Free Agents which means there is always in the past 80 IFA players generated that all teams in all 4 leagues can bid on. There has never been an issue in the past.
Now with OOTP18, every time I attempt to do the same setting and select 0 for the cap amount, it doesn't save anything and reverts the setting back to "None" players to generate. The only way it will save is I have set something other than 0 for the cap amount. Does anyone know if this is something has been an issue in the past and/or any way to fix it? |

it's in the settings "Finances" or Rules or optiosn etc.. under League Settings...
you have to turn off the cap with a tick box... unless it says "0 disables" don't assume it will disable everything. *if it does say that... i'm having a major brain fart lol... pretty sure i untick a box to turn that off... could be wrong.. check manual |

The setting is in the "Players" tab for League Settings. When I select the drop down menu and select "More (20 per year)" it will save the setting until I change the International Amateur FA Signing Cap to 0 for no cap at all. It worked perfectly in OOTP17 but since the move to OOTP18 it will not save as it should.

ok, so zero shoudl work... but like i said is the "hard cap" checked?
it's a new box right under that $$$ input. it's default checked in 18... that would cause a Hard $0 cap maybe? uncheck and should work normally, i'd assume. if all else fails put in 100,000,000 or something less than 1/2 of 2^32 (signed 4 bytes). Last edited by NoOne; 09-06-2017 at 01:04 PM. |

I have done it with Hard Cap checked and not checked. It does the same either way once I enter 0 for the cap. I am afraid if I put in a large number it will cause the IFA players to then ask for much larger initial asking prices than they should. At least that is what happened in OOTP17. Does anyone know if that is still true with OOTP18?

I noticed this today when setting up a new game. I initially thought it was something new, but after reading your post it appears to be a possible bug? Anyone else having this issue, and is there a fix or workaround?

Confirmed this is affecting my league as well, for several versions of OOTP we have used a cap of $0 and let teams sign IFAs for whatever they want, and can't seem to get that setting to work in OOTP18.7.74.
