Dual no-hitter!!

Can't say I've ever seen this before in any of my thousands of years in various OOTP universes. Neither team had a hit in this game. Here's the box score, along with how the lone run scored:

Technically Umana's isn't classed as a no-hitter under MLB rules, because he didn't pitch 9 innings, but it's still a very interesting situation.

It didn't end the same way, but on May 2, 1917 Hippo Vaughn of the Cubs and Fred Toney of the Reds both had no-hitters at the end of nine innings. The Reds got a couple of hits and scored in the top of tenth, and Toney set down the Cubs in the bottom half of the frame for the win.

It's the only game in Major League history with no hits by either team after nine innings.

There have been three dual no-hitters in minor league baseball:

1992: http://www.nytimes.com/1992/08/24/sp...r.html?mcubz=1

1952: http://www.diamondsinthedusk.com/upl...uble_No-No.pdf

1912: referred to here, but no real details: http://www.milb.com/gen/articles/pri...04/c127921.jsp

Am I the only one amused by the line in the news story about the Bulls "cruising" to a 1-0 win?
