FA bidding war continues into regular season

In my current league it's April 2024, opening day. I've been trying to sign a 35 year old free agent Stephen Strasburgh to a deal since the start of free agency. Multiple times he has gotten back to me saying another team has a higher offer, so I've upped my offer. It seems as though he is stuck bouncing offers off the various teams and won't sign one and now the season is about to begin.

Has anyone else seen something like this?

yep, I had Zach Britton do that. through FA, spring training & the start of the reg season. I needed him pretty bad but eventually couldn't match.

ended up signing on 4/20.
