GM Ratings - I am disappoint

Its disappointing to see that the issue with the General Manager ratings was never addressed after being reported with the initial release. Hopefully its something that doesnt go overlooked with OOTP 19.

With very few exceptions, the sliders for Trading Strategy and Prospect Strategy sliders are the same for all general managers in the game.

real-world coaches? less familiarity with those...been a while since i played a real-players game at the moment. from when i edit my coach and gm to be mini-me's or of the same surname, i don't see all the same for trade or prospect value

i think there is a function in the main league settings screen, either visible or in available actions, that re-does strategies? or maybe go to trade settings or ai-eval and i know there's things to re-do gm's distributed around those new settings. definitely scope around in there for the lil funcitons available.

Thanks! I think you might have made this suggestion before. Yes, the problem is with "real life" coaches etc. The only way to do anything that I can find would be to add fictional management, and I dont really want that.

I could go into commish mode and edit them myself, but bye, bye Challenge Mode and since that is the direction they've decided to go in, I've tried to play in that mode as much as possible, so that pretty much rules that solution out.

It's just frustrating to have reported something back in March, been told it was put on a list, and not have it addressed.

it's going to happen eventually

but, definitely not the point of playing a real-players league

it's not a huge deal really... it may also help keep current players playing longer... it's been said in forums that's the reasoning for the AI Evalution defaults. anyway, maybe there's some other function or reason for it... licensing... real-life competitive reasons, even.

Sorry about that, but we can't get to everything that's brought up, much as we'd like to

Very simply, we just don't have the manpower to fix everything that it would be nice to fix. We try to get to the most important stuff, but that means some things end up getting left over.

I understand what you're saying but my issue is it looks like it was a project that was started and then just abandoned, with just a handful of GM's receiving any sort of edit to their ratings. Add to that, the issue of correcting it. Challenge Mode has been pushed heavily this year, and its something that I find interesting. I cant go through and edit anything without blowing my opportunity to run in challenge mode.

I've been a player of this game since OOTP 4, and I will continue to buy this game year after year after year, but this is really the first time I've felt let down by something. It's not the fact that it wasnt addressed, it is the fact that it was half addressed.

Ok, so it looks like we'll release a small maintenance patch next week.

So I'm spending most of the day today working on this.

I'm not sure if I'll be able to edit the overall roster strategy for now due to technical reasons (though we should get that sorted out). At any rate though, as of the next patch the player valuation, player strategy and prospect strategy tendencies should be edited (and hopefully pretty close to the real life tendencies as far as those are known) for all current GM's, most current team presidents and most recent former GM's in the db as well as for quite a few potential future GM's, scouting directors etc.

It was going to be but we found a bug and finally tracked down a fix for another older issue after release, so we'll be releasing one more hotfix later today
