Exactly How does GM Legacy Mode work?
I play as GM only and have GM Legacy mode checked. I tried changing the lineup & starting rotation but it was changed back the next day. Team Control settings are set to the manager. So if they need to be changed as well, what exactly is the purpose of GM Legacy mode and what does it do? I can change the settings in Team Control without Legacy mode turned on.

Change it from the MGR to you. They appear to do the same thing but someone else might be able to tell ya more.

GM only + GM-only (legacy mode) UNchecked + NOT the commissioner means you will not be able to even touch the lineups and pitching staff.
GM only + GM-only (legacy mode) UNchecked + YES the commissioner is deceiving in that you can make changes to the lineups and pitching staff but they are not even used for today's game and as soon as you finish the day, the manager reasserts himself and puts things back the way they were. So I think steady teddy may be doing one or both of the things above. What steady teddy should be doing is: GM only + GM-only (legacy mode) CHECKED + Commissioner either way (does not matter now) + choose himself as being in control of lineups and pitching staff. Now his changes will "stick."

Thanks for the replies.
Started a new test save as GM only with Legacy Mode OFF. Was able to change the Team Control settings for both Pitching & Lineups. Which leads me back to my original point of confusion. : If I can have control of Lineup/Pitching with the Team Control menu, why do we need the GM Legacy option? Then I loaded an older save where I never used Legacy Mode but still playing as GM only. The option to change Lineups/Pitching staff was greyed out, even as Commissioner. I had to check the Legacy Mode box in order to be able to change the Team Control settings. Now that makes sense. I wonder why it's not like that when you start a new game. ![]() Thanks again. |

The only thing that the "legacy mode" does is prevent the AI manager from completely taking over your lineup.
So if you're GM-only and you have a legendary manager, he may not even give you the option to set player strategies or set the lineup - he might force control there. But legacy mode essentially lets always be able to take control. |

This is why I play with Commissioner on because I can't stand having the AI manager bat the catcher as lead-off or run out the same reliever who is severely fatigued while I have 3 other guys at 100% rest
