Who should start Game 5 of my 2000 ALDS?
I just can't seem to decide who should start this vital game for my 2000 Blue Jays team, so I'm going to need some help from you guys to get it done. I've won 3 World Series since the Jays inception in 1977, but none since 1989, the year where my O.G. manager Roy Hartsfield retired. Mickey Lolich took over in 1990, and so began what I have dubbed "The Jeff Kent Era". I've won 5 division titles but have barely been able to move past the first round.
So after letting some early games slip out of the gates in the Oakland series, I managed to climb back with a 15-1 drubbing off Hideki Irabu, a game which included Jeff Kent going 5/5 with a HR, 2 singles, 2 triples, 2 RBIs, 4 runs, and a walk. He could've went for the cycle but just kept on going to 3rd base. Jeff isn't what he used to be, but by golly he gives a ripping performance each time his team makes it to the playoffs. The Jeff Kent Era Blue Jays are choke artists to be sure, but it's certainly not because of Jeff Kent. Anyways, my problem is that I'm right down to the final game and it's a toss up between RHP Brad Radke and LHP Shawn Estes to toe the rubber. I can't confidently choose either one of them, even though they are both total beasts. This team is seriously jinxed (though maybe Robin Yount getting 4000 hits this year reversed the curse?). So please, I need the bench coach to make the call on this one, because whomever Lolich and I have gone to in the past ten years has turned into a total turkey. You be the judge! If you are equally confident in both of them, then perhaps you should look at Oakland's lineup and see if it is a better matchup to RHP or LHP? Or ifyou want to go all in, plan on throwing both...start one for 3-4 innings, bring the other in for the middle, and close out the game with your closer

Estes low WHIP and higher K rate does it for me.
Although how are each of them doing in the post-season? |

Radke is definitely a 'lesser' pitcher than the other guy. those are terrible ratings in 2017, must be good for that era? you said they are monsters and it's not quite what my eye sees, lol. i'm sure that's the reason.
if it's all RH-batters, then maybe radke, andi guess in certain situation the one major difference in which he is better may provide a better probability of success (control)... so if it's a very low slugging team, maybe he could perform better? since it's a different 'era' than what i play, my perceptions may not translate 100%. i didn't even look at stats becasue they are both established vets, and likely accurately rated.
