I re-ran OSA and human scouting and that fixed it. Still weird.

This recently happened to me as well. It's because he's a scouting discovery from earlier this year and OSA only scouts once a year on 1/1.

I mentioned this in a recent post that received only one incoherent reply. In my case, two well experienced minor league players (one from another team) mysteriously appeared on my active roster with no ratings. I took a chance and reassigned them and during the next scouting cycle (which was 1/1) their ratings re-appeared. The only thing lost was their development and scouting history, which was a minor inconvenience.
