Where are the outfielders?

I just purchased OOTP 18, and have been trying to set up an historical simulation in 1901, and none of the teams have any outfielders...
The players are still there; for instance in one experiment after uninstalling and reinstalling, Elmer Flick, who played over a thousand games in his career in the outfield, and 15 games at 2B, is listed as a second baseman, (in a 1903 start), and has no rating in the OF.......
In commissioner mode I've seen this for every team.

1901 = 156 MLB outfielders in the database and 149 in the game as OF's. 7 are playing elsewhere

What ratings are you referring to?

Using an example from 1901 Jimmy Barret has no rating as an outfielder;
no outfield range, fielding or arm, and no experience at any OF position. He is listed as an infielder with the ratings and experience appropriate to an infielder.

He is a CF/RF in the test league I just made with no Inf abilities at all and has OF ratings.

Now you see my dilemma.
I've uninstalled again, and deleted all OOTP files and folders I can find, and will try downloading again.

I have almost this same problem, although it took me awhile to piece together what was happening. It's not all outfielders for me, but almost all. I remember Goose Goslin developing normally. Did the reinstall work for you?
