Historical with Fictional Players

I was wondering if there is a way to do a historical MLB replay with fictional players.

Absolutely! That's the way that I always play (although I really should try something else once in a while . . . ).

You start a new historical league set in, say, 1901. I don't import history up until that time. You can, but what is the point if all your players are going to be fictional?

As commissioner, you release all players from rosters in all levels (you need to decide whether to have a reserve roster or AAA, AA, etc. - I always choose minors even though that's not accurate for 1901).

Then you go to the free agent pool and delete all those real players. Don't forget the few retirees - you don't want them hanging around!

Next you go to League Settings, Functions, and Fill Teams with Fictional Players. Decide whether to proceed from there or to Schedule a Fantasy Draft.

There are a bunch of other settings to consider, such as whether you want to import historical financial settings, league totals, and player modifiers every year. (You do.) Maybe read a bit in the online manual about historical settings and post questions here if you have any.
