Import game from '17

My guinea pig player is Daniel Murphy. Somehow in my sim league he only gets rated at 1b and LF (as seen in photo) I know its cut off but he has same, arm, range, error and DP ratings as he's given stock in the software.

I don't understand how he can have max 200 experience at 2b, (and he is a 2b) but my league/sim didn't generate a 2b rating for him (and 3b too for that matter)

This is just a guess, and you mentioned that the other factors were the same, but experience may not be a 1-to-1 relationship with his athletic/natural ability to play the position; there could be other factors at work aside from those listed, including experience, which resulted in the AI looking to place him somewhere-else.

Still, good question. Could be something going-on.

There was a similar thread that said if he was left handed throwing they removed the fielding ratings from some positions. Is that the case here?

Clearly, something is wrong. You may want to upload your league files for the development team to examine.

Murphy is right handed.

And I should add (if you already didn't know), if I just booted up ootp and played with the stock MLB replay version, Murphy has the same Experience etc, but of course is given a rating at 2b, so its something native to my league file or player creation/import

The only way to get a 0 rating at 2B/3B/SS is if he throws left-handed, or one of his component ratings is below the min threshold (ie. if his "turn DP" rating is too low at a position, we remove the rating for that). So definitely check that he didn't somehow get turned into a player who throws left-handed.

I just looked, and yes, he is listed as L/L left hitting, left throwing and he SHOULD be a L/R player. This is something weird, but had no idea

So is this a known bug with left handed infielders that may not get rated somehow (i.e - should I check others who throw left handed?) and secondly, if I just edit him back to throwing right handed will it correct his ratings immediately or do I need to do anything else?

I just edited him back to throwing right handed and BAM, his normal ratings are back immediately. Don't know how he got switched to a lefty thrower, but is fixed now. Thanks

It's not really a bug so much as a feature, since lefty throwers don't play any if positions other than 1b in reality.
