Does OOTP5 include some of the normal, everyday plays that are missing in OOTP4?
Were these play results added to OOTP5:
1) dropped throws 2) dropped infield flies 3) dropped foul flies (infield and outfield) 4) LF, RF, 2B, SS catching foul flies (only C, !B, 3B do it in OOTP4) 5) out trying to stretch a single more frequently (it rarely happens in OOTP4) 6) out trying to stretch a triple into an inside-the-park home run 7) inside-the-park home run (some say they have seen it in OOTP4 but very rarely) 8) more double plays at home plate (pitcher to catcher to first for example)...in OOTP4 catchers rarely are involved in double plays...only 3-4 per season...realistically they should have about 10 DPs 9) double plays (catcher to SS, 2B or 3B on an attempted steal when a batter strikes out) These are the most noticeable plays missing from OOTP4. I hope they are in OOTP5. |

I am also curious whether anyone had ever seen a steal of home? Granted, I sim most of my games, dealing more with the operations of the club and player development than on-the-field play, but I know it has never happened in the dozens of actually played out games I have witnessed.

I don't know if they were added or not, I do know that the pbp was worked on and enhanced somewhat.

I've never seen a steal of home...in fact, you are not given that option like 2nd and 3rd base steals.
Unassisted forceouts and unassisted double plays at second base by the SS and 2B are not in the game (1B and 3B can do it however). Steve: thanks for replying...I hope these basic plays will be added soon. I'm not a programmer, but it seems these would be easy to add to the game. |

1) - 6) Haven't seen any.
7) - had one in an OOTP5 game I played today. Pretty sure I saw one or two in OOTP4 as well. 8) Can't gauge based on the limited # of games I've played with OOTP5. If I had to guess, I would say this hasn't changed. 9) Haven't seen any. The strike-em-out-throw-em-out isn't even possible if the human-controlled team is at bat, because you're not allowed to try and steal if there are two strikes on the batter (just like in OOTP4). |

I don't see much of a difference in PbP from last years version.

I think the play by play is much smoother this year and there has also been various plays added. I would, of course, like to see more and maybe in the first update Markus will have time to add some stuff to the play by play.
