Redo Button

If you could start baseball history all over again, what things would you change?

DH or no?
Roster size?
# of Games?

No performance enhancing drugs.
Career leader boards would be authentic and have meaning.

80 to 100 game seasons, as long as it was always similar length for stats consistency.

ok seriously
DH im fine with for one league
but No 1994 strike
no steroids
shorter 150 game season
no interleague play
color barrier broken about 12-15 years sooner
Padres should have kept Ozzie Smith, Dave Winfield, John Kruek, Roberto Alomar, Joe Carter, Fred McGriff, Gary Sheffield, Benito Santiago, Tony Fernandez, Kevin Brown, Adrian Gonzalez, Heath Bell, Longer by maybe 2-3 seasons each and would have kept Anthony Rizzo and Derek Lee in the system and had them come up

How the heck would you have been able to keep Alomar, Carter, McGriff and Fernandez simultaneously when they were all involved in the same crazy blockbuster deal?

1) Integrated MLB from Day 1.
2) Pulling the plug on the 1994 season. The season would have played out & then, if we had to pull the plug on the 1995 season, so be it.
3) NEVER let Bud Selig become Commissioner of Baseball.
4) Banned PEDs from MLB.
5) Kept baseball in Montreal.

DH in both leagues.
Free Agency from early on.
Negro Leaguers being purchased from their respective teams around the time Satchel Paige comes in.
All Star Game earlier.
Rookie of the year from 1901.
No PED's including Pud Galvin.
No strikes
Players do not go to war.
Fewer teams.
154 game schedule.
No Black Sox scandal.
No Bill Veeck owning and killing the 1959 Sox.
Cubs never winning a World Series, ever!
(The ring is still really cool though, especially up close)
No players dying during their careers.
Tavares is a beast in one of my leagues in 2026.
Old Comiskey is still standing on the South Side.

No players union, No free agency. And since this is fantasy, owners who are actually human beings with a soul and care more about people than profits. Dito for star players.

Season start Apr 15, end Sep 15 (no more than 140 games).
No FA, players somewhat loyal to teams, teams loyal players.
Teams have equal finances.
No color barrier ever.
Electronic system to call balls and strikes!
24 teams, two leagues, two divisions. Teams in Mexico, Canada, South America?
No wildcard teams in playoffs.
Same rules for all games (DH or no DH for all games, I slightly prefer DH to keep some good hitters in game longer).
No TV/radio blackouts.

I got to watch a lot of those guys play for the Beaumont Golden Gators in the 80's. Kruk, Santiago, Joey Cora, Ozzie Guillen, Sandy Alomar, Lance McCullers, Mark Williamson, Bill Long, and Shane Mack were all on the team that won the Texas League. Cora was stabbed after a game in San Antonio, too.

Ban foreign substance on baseballs. Raise mound to current level. Replace baseballs after every half inning (minimum). Don't ban Shoeless Joe Jackson.

LOL I know you didn't mean it like this but it reads like "keep them segregated until someone good comes around"
