21 innings - 2 runs
I play out every one of my games - in Challenge Mode.
I think this is the first time I have had this happen. I had to eventually use Urias - my next game starter. I think I lost the next two games after my starting pitchers couldn't even get out of the 4th and my bullpen was exhausted. And notice - Buxton struck out 8 times! Compared to him, Grossman's 6 K's weren't so embarrassing. |

Seeing these 18+ inning games are pretty common in OOTP from what I can tell where in real life they are more rare. Why do you think that's so?

Depending on who my next starter is there comes a point where I say this is my last reliever and take the loss if that's what it means so I don't give away the next 2 games. When playing out games it's very tempting to manage every game like it's game 7 of the World Series.

Why did you have Dayton bat for himself in the 12th?

0-0 after 20 innings. That's crazy. I think these marathon games are more common because of the sheer volume of games being played with all the users on here and all the games they play.
Being from Minnesota what immediately stands out to me is the lack of Joe Mauer. I'm guessing he must have been on the DL at the time. |

There are a couple of possible reasons.
- I made a mistake and pressed Hit too quickly. I do that sometimes, and I have asked the designers to put a reminder that the pitcher is batting - but so far I do not see that a warning exists. - Maybe I did it on purpose because I thought that Dayton could go another inning? - It is possible that I asked him to bunt and he failed. I am not really sure what my thinking was. And I could not find a play-by-play log, so I am not sure if I was lazy pr stupid, or perhaps Dayton was merely inefficient. ![]() |

42 strikeouts?! That has to be some sort of record...or tribute.
