Chill Out, Dude

So, my starting RF was on the DL at the end of the season. When you try to advance, the game doesn't like you to have anyone on the DL and prompts you to clear out the DL. So, since my active roster is full, I pop him over to the reserve roster, just for convenience - no point in reshuffling everybody during the off-season, I'll sort it out when Spring Training rolls around.

So now, it's Spring Training and the guy is red-faced angry about his role on the team. It's been years since he's not started a game - except when he's been injured. Chill out, dude!

I like the morale system and all, but you'd think that where they happen to be listed during the off-season wouldn't be affecting morale.

And... then there's Spring Training. I usually end Spring Training with the whole team pissed off. I like to use Spring Training to teach new positions to younger players since I prize flexibility on my teams. Also I want to protect my better players from injury. I want them to play just enough to shake off the rust. (however much that is???)

But the players can't seem to understand that and get all in a huff about not being in the starting lineup. Then I start the season with a grumpy team. If I have a decent team then it doesn't take too long before everyone is happy again. But if the team gets off to a slow start, the morale can spiral out of control.

Chill out, dudes! I'm keeping you healthy and teaching the younger guys...

So. I don't think a player's depth chart position during Spring Training ought to be affecting morale either.

OK. That's my official request for OOTP 19. (actually, I suppose it'll be my unofficial request until I post it in the suggestions for improvement thread...)

In other words: "Chill out, dude!"

And the answer is "No, not until we start winning some games around here". And, by the way, I'm upset with my role in this forum. I should be higher than a Single A poster! I demand to be traded to another forum!
