Sim Speed

Hi

So i like to play GM, and let my manager coach the games while i watch in real time. I like watching the pbp box while i do other things on my other screen and such. Games usually take 10-15 minutes to play out. I went to work, and when i came home i started up a new game and the sim speed is sooo fast, games literally finish in 1-2 minutes. It's insane. I do have small kids and i imagine my keyboard might have been hit and a setting somehow was changed but i cannot for the life of me figure what setting was changed. Hoping someone has any insight in to this.

Did you patch up recently? One of the things that came up after release is that they had the Number of Helper Threads defaulting to "None." Apparently the game is supposed to take a look at your system and choose a number of helper threads that makes sense, given your system capabilities. Without going into technicalities, helper threads make the game run smoother and faster.

Thank you for the reply, however I don't believe it's patch related as it didn't happen right after patching. I've tried setting the time between plays all the way up to 7 seconds, but that changes nothing, there is 0 time between plays and the game is done in a minute or 2. The pbp speed is unreadable unless you're Data from Star Trek. So frustrating.

I've finally narrowed it down. This super sim speed only happens in 3d view. Webcast and Broadcast views sim the game normally. I have no idea how i can fix this lol. I did try updating to see if that would do it but to no avail.

i can't be specific because i don't watch...

but, there are options to slow sim dpeeds down in various spaces...

check settings when you initially load app, but before oyu load the game - peruse all tabs.

then in game after starting a game, exit to main screen. while real-time is going on there is a dropdown box for rreal time sim speed when you hit "play game" or whatver -> in that context menu - that may not be related, but just in case. (i think a game or the day needs to be simming in progress in order to change this setting?)

check manual, google ootp18 manual and related words - probably faster than looking over its toc.

then ofc, look over the play game settings just for sh^ts and grins one more time. i know you can affect pbp speed at least.

again, if you've done it, skip it... i don't watch games. if you exhausted all the settings in all the locations, defintieyl a bug. don't have to reply to me, just post in that forum.

lots of nooks and crannies in this game's options. hmm, suggestion - a consolidated section, even if the rest remains as is... some sprawling huge mess of input boxes and radios, lol. i don't like haveing to search and i am fairly familiar with wher ethings are.
