Too much offense in early seasons

I have run several fictional simulations and the first few decades the league ERA is high, around 5. Team batting average is roughly .300. It starts to settle down after a couple decades where the averages are around .270 for batting average and 3.60 to 3.70 for era. No settings are changed and I have tried an inaugural draft and no draft with similar results. Anybody else noticing this?

What years you are noticing? This is currently to vague to give a definitive answer.

The year started doesn't matter. The heavy offense occurs early. Below are a couple screenshots from a league started in 1900. Its not a huge deal as I can set the modifiers for how I want early and then tweak them as I notice the drop off.
