FaceGen Query

I can't seem to get the FaceGen function to consistently generate player pictures. I've tried both the On demand and On creation options, and I've tried the Update and the Force update options, but pictures are inconsistently produced, with no detectable pattern (one time, the program even crashed when running a forced update). For example, when looking at the day's schedule, some pictures are there, others are not. Same when games are played out, same when looking at stats leaders. I can't seem to figure this one out.

Are you sure 'Create Player Pictures For' is set to "all players" and not ' No Fictional Pictures?'

Yup, the setting is "All players". Now, I've tried it again, but this time specifying "No backgrounds on pictures" (see below) and it seems to be working just fine. So it seems that asking for backgrounds is causing a problem.

It looks like I spoke too soon. A week into the season and FaceGen no longer works consistently. At the start of a game, the program pauses to create pictures, but when the game begins most of the pictures are missing. Even pictures that were generated when the game was initially set up are starting to disappear.

I had this happen to me last year. What ended up solving the problem was a settings change in the Global Settings (under the File tab). On the "3D & FaceGen" tab, I have OpenGL Mode set to "Use OpenGL only for 3D" and OpenGL Shader Mode set to "Disable".

I hope this works for you, too.

BigRed75 -- Many thanks. Your recommendation seems to be working, although I had to start a new league to get it to take effect. Making the suggested change didn't lead to recovery of the missing FaceGen pictures.

You may need to re-load those players' pictures from the player screen to see them. Glad it worked.
