How to Create More Coaches?

I have a fantasy league pushing through its 9th season at the moment and I am having a crisis I have no idea how to solve.

The league is running out of coaches for minor league teams!

It seems the game never generates any new ones, so as you wade through the endless supply of POOR coaches season after season, eventually, all you have left is guys who only want to work with VETERANS and won't take Rookie and lower level jobs.

What to do?

In a related question, why are so many coaches POOR? Will they grow in skill if you let them stay on your teams?

I absolutely love this game but the scarceness of competent coaches, the league's refusal to add coaches to the coaching pool, and the insanely high rate of injuries on anything other than VERY LOW setting are big time bumps along an otherwise smooth and beautiful road.

go to "available personnel" then in teh Available Actions in top-right corner will allow you to create fictional staff.

keep an eye out for "available actions" or even a league drop down in that same area while in settings or various screens in the game.. useful stuff there in other places, too.

Reputation is not skill... so don't confuse those two. a bad coach who coaches winning teams can be "legendary" but still a crappy coach if based on his ratings.. can we see those in '18 without the editor? lol... i've lsot interest in caring much about coaches. i'd care about what you can see - namely his personality and his strategy.

i avoid all of this with my head coach - it's a digi-me... but not the gm/manager game type, i just make a coach and rename them. I edit him any way i wish and i adjust my strategy over time as any coach does, because it's me, lol. not to mention i have super stats, of course... . Oh and i practice neopotism... every 30 years or so the coach's "son" pops up in my minors building reputation as the older one retires

I am not playing in Commissioner mode so that option is not available to me. It seems weird such a well thought out game would not create new coaches as time progresses. From what I can see, the skill of your coaches impacts the development of your players.

You can also find retired players and turn them into coaches, under the 'Available Actions' tab for each player, iirc.

You would need to be in Commissioner mode for this as well. You can temporarily turn this mode on by going into your manager settings.
