Steal/Run and hit
I know several versions ago it was always advisable to 'run and hit' over steal due to the high percentage of failed steal attempts. is this still the case?

I have played through about 50 games or more this year, and from my experience, I would say that if it's 2nd base that you want to steal, 'running and hitting' works better than just "steal" option.
I don't have statistics to back this up, but my experiences of success and failure of testing both were tilted in the favor of 'run and hit' and it seemed obvious to me that it is much more successful this year. |

"Run and hit" does avoid the issue of the runner refusing to go, so you will have a higher chance of the attempt being made. However, the batter could make contact.

I'm not sure if that holds true if you play every pitch and can watch your pitches and decide which pitch count, etc. is a better chance for stealing, which should provide a better chance of success than does one-pitch/action mode... you would think. |
