ootp5 crashing

I have played into about the 7th year of my league. Loving this game. All of sudden , it crashes and gives me the error to send Microsoft, which I don't. It did it about 5 times over a two hour period, and it always seemed to open back up fine, but I noticed that whole chunks of stats were gone. My star pitcher lost 4 wins. This has happened before, but not so often as it did today. I looked at the details of the error and it was exhaustive and total Greek to me, although I did see a mention of elicense in the error report. This happens in the middle of simming, so no saving is gonna help. I am running XP, with 512 MB ram, and had no crash problems with Version 4 on this machine. Does anybody know anything about this or can anyone offer any suggestions? I am running the latest patch.

Does it always happen on Sundays in you schedule?

It does the same thing to me and it's always on Sundays. I actually simmed like 50 years before it started occuring. Now it does it all the time.

It might, I never noticed, since I sim each month at a time..I am just glad (not in a literal sense) that someone else is experiencing my problem....50 years before it started? Gosh that is a heartbreaker for your almanac. I hate knowing that there is inaccuracy in the almanac.. I will quit playing until I find a solution..thanks for replying. I will try to get it to duplicate and see if it is always on Sunday

The inaccuracy in the almanac made me scrap the league

It had so much history too.

I don't know how to help you with this either. I think the best answer I've gotten was that it's a problem with the video card.

I really don't think that's our problem, Stealth..Like I said, this NEVER happened in V4.. Have you talked to Steve Kuffrey about this?

This is a problem for me in version five and it was a problem for me in version four.

You said that chunks of stats would dissapear, and that is exactly what my problem is. Stats from the time I last saved the game until the crash were all lost.

And yes, I have talked to Steve about this. The best answer I recieved was that it was a problem with my video card.

What type of league is this? How exactly are these seasons being simmed? I ask because I have simmed numbers of seasons and not had anything like this. How much RAM do you have? Does the game lockup, crash or what exactly happens?

Steve, I am playing a solo, fictional league, using the rosters that came with the game. Manager mode too. I have 512 MB ram. When it happens, the Microsoft message comes up asking if I want to send a detailed report of the error. It usually occurs when I am simming, and the message says that there was an error in OOTP5 and it must be closed. Then asks me if I want to send the report to Microsoft, I click on Don't Send and ootp is closed down. When I reopen, I click on continue league, and it opens up the "career league" that ships with OOTP. I then load my league that I was using and everything is the same, except all the stats that were there since the last save are gone. What do you think?

This sounds very similar to this error I have been getting that I reported here...I'll have to check into the sundays part though. I don't get a send error to MS message but the missing stats sounds like they might be related.

edit; I just loaded two of my broken files to find that both happened on Sunday.

Have either of you tried creating a different type of league and see if the same thing happens? Are you running with sound on/off? Thanks for your patience, we are trying to get to the bottom of these issues.

have you tried changing the year starts on. I changed it to Sunday from Wednesday and left it sim last night and have so far made it 40 seasons without a crash.

I have
2.2ghz
512 ram
64MB DDR NVIDIA GeForce3 Ti 500 Graphics Card

I am running a league called mike.lg , I am using G-force rosters and it just freezes during a sim and I get the same error message and the stats are all gone except the wins and losses.

I have been having the same problems since I downloaded the new patch.

Any help would be nice. How many times can you use your license? I would hate to remove it and download it all again and never be able to download it again if it happens again.

If you could help me out here and also explain what the policy is for downloading the game and using your license I would be much appreciative.

The license can be unlicensed and relicensed as much as you want. There are TWO licenses which means it can be used on 2 PC's at the same time.

I am unsure what you mean as i am still kinda new to this, My first season I used the Schedule that was set up, I just started season #2 and it froze 3 games into it. I think the schedule thing may be a part of this...Any suggestions??

It froze on a Friday, the season started on Wednesday....I just edited the schedule and it went to the same date and froze again??

One other note, I just tried to edit my schedule again and now the season is trying to start on Wed the 4th of april. But it has all team with at least 2 games played. There are no team stats however. If I can recall when I first started this second season, I did not edit schedule, I left it as is and I think It started on the 1st of april.

Nope I haven't used any sort of third party utility, most times I haven't even used the in game editor.
