How to change location of saved_games?

In Windows 10, I just realized that OOTP automatically puts saved_games in the OneDrive folder in my user folder. I don't want it there.

All I see in the OOTP settings is an option for "custom data path", but that opens up by default to the actual game installation, not the location where the saved_games live.

So how do I change the location of the saved_game by default?

Be careful. I've changed the location and now get a SQLite error message which I've reported in the Bug Forum. When I changed back to the default directory the error went away.

How to do so is to Open OOTP18. From the title screen, Choose the Settings option. Then click "Expert" tab. From there click "Select" next to the Customer data path line.

Hope this helps.

Ok, I'm just confused about where the custom data path opens to by default. I would have expected it to open to the onedrive folder, but it opens up to the steam install. so I didn't want to mess with it if that was the wrong setting.

It's uber-shady that stuff goes into that onedrive folder by default, where microsoft tries to screw you into purchasing more cloud space by giving you only 5GB. Not nearly enough for a couple of OOTP saves. I need to figure out how to get my saves out of that BS folder.

Can't help you with Steam or Onesite. I don't use either one.

Sorry,

Well it appears I unintentionally changed the default install location. Here's what I (think) I did:

- I disconnected myself from OneDrive. Screw you, microsoft.
- booted up OOTP 18. Hmm. Even though the OneDrive folder exists on my computer, and I can see my saves, all my save files are gone.
- Tried changing the Custom Data Path in settings - Expert. Realized I didn't really want to mess with that, but couldn't take it back, so I set it to the data folder of my steam install.
- in OOTP settings, Troubleshooting, I clicked on "Open folder containing saved game" Voila! OOTP has moved my saved_games folder into the steam install location, which is what I wanted anyway.

I don't know exactly which part moved my saved_games folder, but it's moved and I don't seem to be getting any errors. So whatever.

Press select then navigate "UP" until you see drive letters then go where you want.
