Conflicting Owner Goals

I'm managing the 2017 Dodgers. My owner gave me 4 goals. One was "upgrade at first be". The next was "sign Adrian Gonzales to an extension". How do I do both, or if I do what do I do with Gonzo?

I wonder if it's reading it as you have no 1B so if you sign him, you will complete the upgrade and extension:O

Oops, meant 2018 LA. Gonzo is playing his option year, so he's still on the team. (And hitting over .400 so far, making me question the whole upgrade thing.)

Whats his overall/potential I wont if the AI isnt taking stats into the equation rather other stats and or overall/potential rather than production as well to request the upgrade decision.

So, it's possible.
