News items did not import

Everything seems to have imported alright for me except the news. The news page has dates of news articles but no subject to click on. The newspaper has boxes for the stories but they are blank.

Maybe I can find the file and manually move it from 17 to 18?

I don't have to tell you, but I will, to backup before trying anything. Like messages, a deletion of the message.dat file can result in the messages rebuilding. Perhaps you could try deleting news.dat (I think that's the file) and see if it's recreated.

Otherwise, as you suggest, moving the file manually may be an answer. In any event, please document your failures and successes so we know. Thanks!

Thanks endgame. Board was busy so wasn't surprised to have to wait on a response. In the meantime I manually copied the files from 17 to 18 and that seems to have worked fine. Had to bowl tonight and just got home and came here to post that I was able to fix it and found your helpful suggestions.
