Pacific Association?

I know it is probably quite unlikely but will the Pacific Association be included in the game?

Just wondering if I can play the Sonoma Stompers :-)

last year - only teams with Major League affiliations were included. As i recall the Pacific Association was an independent league. Don't know for certain, but i wouldn't expect it to be included in OOTP 18. But that's purely a guesstimate.

The PA is an low-level independent league, lower even than the Pecos League, which was included in OOTP17. Shouldn't be too hard to re-create, with only four teams in the league:

Pittsburg Diamonds (Pittsburg, CA) Winter Chevrolet Stadium
San Rafael Pacifics (San Rafael, CA) Albert Park
Sonoma Stompers (Sonoma, CA) Peoples Home Equity Ballpark at Arnold Field
Vallejo Admirals (Vallejo, CA) Wilson Park

And as an added bonus, here are the logos:

No, we're not planning on including it.

Maybe next year

As the Pacific Association was not in the game, but many of those players who compose this league are in the game, this league can be easily recreated by us -ignoring park factors, etc-.

Many players are there, as FA or retired. If you want to have them, just create the league and start "drafting" them one by one. I did it a few times last year without issues. Each team ended up with more than 15 players. Then you have the option to create the missing players manually or let the league sign FA.

I really enjoy more indy leagues and international leagues than the majors. Few teams, shorter seasons, no minors. I have more fun managing the Stompers than the Cubs.

Last year the game came with these unnafiliated baseball independent Leagues:

American Association
Atlantic League
Canadian American
Frontier League
Pecos League

Not sure, just guessing, but I think Razr88 is referring not to historical minors in OOTP, but for the Standard Game mode, which I believe allows you to play using the current minor league setup, including some of the independent leagues... perhaps not the Pacific Association, though.

I personally don't think the Pecos League should be there. No attendance figures are reported for the league, and in a few instances, the supposed final standings of the league don't balance. (If a league can't even report its standings accurately, the professionalism of that league deserves to be questioned. Some of the summer college leagues do a better job in the areas of attendance and stats than does the Pecos League.)

I'd rather have the 1886 National League than the 2016 Pacific League.
