Expansion Question

I am starting a new franchise in 1985. I am trying to add 2 expansion teams but everytime I start the offseason the option to "add teams and do expansion draft" is shaded out and I cant select it.

I can manually add 2 teams but there is no option for a draft or anything..

Am I missing something? I am assuming its something to do with the "auto expand league" setting. Thing is I still want the league to expand historically but still want 2 new teams in 85..

is this possible?

What day is it? Has offseason already ended / is it Spring Training already?

Its just before spring training..like April 2..

i think you can only do it in preseason

How do I start in the offseason..Seems I'm always starting at the beginning of March when I start historic seasons.
