Both Andy Marte and Yordano Ventura lost their lives today in separate car accidents.....very sad.

Absolutely tragic. Just nine mnths after the Jose Fernandez tragedy too. I can't remember the last time two young ballplayers in their prime died so close together.

Actually it's only been four months since Fernandez died.

I always want in these threads to be respectful. And I do truest feel sadness when young men and women die before their time.
But please please please. Don't drink and drive. This is the third offseason in a row where a young baseball player has died in a auto accident and it always comes out that alcohol was involved.
MLB has to step in at some point about education with its players about alcohol and driving.

But this is just terribly sad. Three off seasons in a row where young players die way before their time.

And what's worse.......Royals FanFest is this coming weekend! Gonna be kinda hard to have a "fest" so near removed. Word is Ventura's funeral is Tuesday and Royals FanFest begins on Friday.

Marte was one of my favourite players for the KT Wiz and one of the first foreign players for the team. He was greatly loved by the players and fans here in Suwon. I had the chance to meet his family at the game and I really feel for them right now.

It's a tough day.
