Not generating players from new fictional nation
Hi guys, I created a test league, default settings, based in the US. I then created a new fictional nation "New France" with the in-game editor after the league was created but before any seasons started.
I set the population to 100,000,000 with one city that holds the entire population. Baseball quality is Excellent. "Foreign Players On Active Roster Limit" is set to "No Limit". I've simmed 15 years and not a single player has been created from New France. I do see plenty of other players from Mexico, Japan, DR, etc. The only thing that seems to be missing is there is no continent listed for New France. I don't know how to add that in-game (and I've read it is only cosmetic?). Any idea what I'm doing wrong? Thanks.

Here are a few areas you can check...
Under League Settings, locate the League & Teams tab: Next, look for League Nation - Make sure the nation you created is selected. (If that nation is not there or not in the list for selection then perhaps something went wrong with nation creation.) Under League Settings, locate the Rules tab: Next, look for Foreign Players on Active Roster Limit - Select No Foreigners Allowed. Under League Settings, locate the Players tab: Next, look for Default Player Origin - Click on Edit - Locate your created nation and make sure it has a check mark in the box and 100% in the box at the end. Then make sure that all other nations are unchecked. If you notice other nations have checks, go ahead and uncheck them. (Again, if you notice your created nation is not there or not in the list for selection then perhaps something went wrong with nation creation.) Hope this helps. |

Thanks DreamTeams. You solved it!
![]() The nation was listed as an option when I go to the League and Teams tab. So that was already ok. This "New France" will provide foreign players for a United States home league, so that thought didn't apply. BUT, you were 100% right to suggest checking League Settings > Players tab > Default Player Origin > Edit. I saw my new nation listed there as an option, but the checkbox next to "New France" was not checked. I then checked the box, ran a few drafts, and I am now getting players created from my new nation.

Super cool, stevebydac. Think I may have miss-understood some of what you wanted. After re-reading your original post looks like you do want foreign players, but weren't getting any players from your created nation. Glad one of the options solved the problem.
